We are now accepting applications for the 2023/24 MATRIX-N Junior Scholars Program!
Four to six paid, part-time positions available to UBC graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds to support translational research and innovation in neuropsychiatry and the MATRIX-N research excellence cluster. Successful candidates will be selected to work closely with the cluster coordinator to advance cluster activities, including science communication, research collaborations, drug development, and event organization.
Eligibility:
- MSc or PhD student under the supervision of UBC faculty member for the 23/24 academic year
- Conducts translational, foundational or clinical research related to novel therapeutic options in neuropsychiatry and innovative solutions to global challenges around mental health and substance use disorders.
- Member of underrepresented group(s) (in terms of race, age, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, lived experience, etc.); Indigenous students strongly encouraged to apply.
- Able to commit to an 8-month part-time position (Sept 2023 - Apr 2024, 32 weeks, 5h/week).
Compensation: $5000 stipend for an 8-month part-time position (Sept 2023 - Apr 2024, 32 weeks, 5h/week), plus mentoring, professional development, and networking opportunities.
